A flat lakeside cycling and walking trail runs from north to south on the eastern side of the southern end of Lake Garda's shoreline. That means that visitors to Bardolino can easily head north towards the town of Garda or south heading towards Cisano and Lazise without any climbing or major exertion and while enjoying the fabulous views across the lake. And the lake ferry is anyway always on hand if the warm weather gets too much in high season.
The town centre of Bardolino hosts a number of interesting historic buildings, from merchants' houses with typical Venetian architectural embellishments through to churches dating back to the 12th century. The church pictured below is one of the oldest, San Severo, which is located a little away from the lake shore right next to the main road running between Lazise, Bardolino and Garda. The church, which was built on the remains of a former building dating from the 9th century, houses some historic fresco paintings.
